Yesterday CC the sloth (from Staten Island zoo) and I went on the Today show to promote my book, A LITTLE BOOK OF SLOTH. I was nervous that the studio would freak her out but she seemed to love all the attention. Especially when the make up girls combed her hair so she looked all pretty for the show.

Baby Bear Diagnosed With Social Anxiety
Bear psychologists have diagnosed a local cub with social anxiety disorder after he exhibited extreme shyness around others.
“Sometimes cubbies can be a little awkward around their peers, but most will grow out of it,” says Dr. Jane Camping. ”But a bear with social anxiety may have setbacks — he won’t be able to eat at the cool kids table, or will be too shy to ask a girl to the Spring Fling dance. So it’s good to diagnose that early on.”

UK Pub Serves Hamster Pints Instead of Beer
In an effort to curb drunk driving and other alcohol abuse, a pub in the Crystal Palace area of London has stopped serving beer, filling its mugs instead with adorable hamsters.
“Sure, it’s bad for business,” says Owen Williamson, owner of The Chicken Scratch bar. “But if we save even one life, it’ll be worth it.”

Tootsie, a little black cat who was left to die after a hit and run does hydrotherapy to recover the movement on his right leg.
Tootsie started on the long road to recovery with just ninety second dips while wearing a harness to help lower him in and out of the pool.
But by the end of the six-week training plan he was able to swim freely without his safety rope or harness for 20 minutes at a time.
Hydrotherapy is an established method of rebuilding weak and damaged muscles both in people and in animals.
